NEC is back on the scene with a clutch of new products, including a couple all-in-ones, some notebooks and a color refresh for the LaVie Light. Standing in stark contrast to the new Viewsonic all-in-ones, the two additions to the ValueStar line pack a little heat, with Intel Core and AMD Athlon processors, generous helpings of memory and storage, and features like Blu-ray and digital Television tuners that are sure to amuse and titillate. The new LaVie notebooks run the gamut from 13.3- to 16-inch, with either Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon processors. In addition to the usual storage and memory options, the 13.3-inch model sports an LED that can be configured by the user to display either the time or a line of text. Last but not least, fans of the boxy LaVie Light netbook have a couple more color options — aside from the original black or white, they’ve thrown pink and blue into the mix. Be sure to check out the additional images and detailed specs after the break.

We saw Mouse Personal switch gears with their gaming notebook the other day, and the company is back already with the LB-F1500W. Their first netbook with an optical DVD drive, this tiny terror “boasts” a 10.2-inch display, 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB memory, 160GB hard disk storage, and Windows XP Home. These are pretty run-of-the-mill specs, and for

Gateway's netbook lands domestically at Office Depot of all places

We can’t get up for a nice cuppa these days without tripping over some new netbook, but still each now and again one offers styling that catches our eye. Such was the case with Packard Bell’s “dot,” an Aspire One rebadge with a striking red metallic hinge but otherwise familiar internals. It later appeared as a Gateway in Singapore, and reader APowe emailed to say he’d seen one prowling the aisles at a local Office Depot. We were incredulous, but he drove back to get proof and was kind enough to pass the resulting pics along. Gateway is calling this the LT1004U domestically; it has the standard netbook specs you’ve come to love (9-inch screen, Atom 270, 160GB drive, 1GB RAM, Win XP) and is selling for a quite competitive $379. This particular one was spotted in Redmond, WA, but maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find one near you.

[Thanks, APowe]

Think of this store as a “Circuit City plus a few Surface displays, Microsoft Tags and magical screen-equipped shopping carts.” Unfortunately, it’s not open to the public. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Oh, and before you gather up your Zune pals for a road trip: the Experience Center is real, but the customers are fake.

This person shows why you shouldn’t play Flick Bowling for the iPhone, while riding the subway. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if this is a viral video for the game either. Continue reading to watch.

Some Beijing man had to learn the hard way that Flick Bowling on the iPhone is probably not the ideal game to play in public… especially inside public transport.

Not only is the case of this Nikon D80 transparent, but the lens as well. Unfortunately, it’s just a concept that was first shown at Photokina. If you’re into transparent displays, this should do the trick.

In Aero the Acro-Bat, “the levels are played in typical 2D platforming, but in order to clear levels, the player must accomplish certain tasks so that the exit warp can be revealed.” ScrewAttack takes a look back at this title after the break.

Those tasks include passing through hoops, step on platforms until they disappear, ride roller coasters, etc.
