Workaholics take note: HP just did the impossible, cramming 24 hours of battery into a laptop, and destroying Dell’s fresh 19 hour record in the process. The HP EliteBook 6930p combines advances such as an LED backlit display and Intel’s 80GB SSD, a new HP BIOS and Intel graphics driver, and of course an “Ultra Capacity Battery” — a 12-cell, $189 option, which weighs in at a hefty 1.77 pounds — for a net approximate 24 hours of work time. The standard 6930p only weighs 4.7 pounds, though, so you’re not looking at a backbreaker, and configurations start at $1,199 without SSD.

Ah, fiddlesticks! Here we were hoping that somehow ASUS could pack a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and NVIDIA’s GeForce 9300M GS into a netbook for under half a grand, but deep down, we knew it wasn’t to be. Instead, this (very) well-spec’d N10 is ringing up at $849 over at J&R’s website, but that also buys you a 10.2-inch LCD, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, a fingerprint reader, Windows Vista Business and a built-in webcam. Wondering when the charge will actually hit your card? “Coming Soon” is all we’ve got.

[Thanks, Rich]

DS Premium

According to sources, “there are only 3,000 of these cover plated DS Premium Lites: 1,000 Premium Silver; 1,000 Premium Black; 1,000 Premium Rose.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

Club Nintendo members interested in snagging one of these need to enter the serial numbers of two purchased DS titles that went on sale after August 2006 into the Club Nintendo online application.

New Zune

The new Zune models are now officially available and have been unboxed for your viewing pleasure — a blue 8GB and the 120GB. Click here for first picture in gallery.

With just capacity and color changes, there’s not a lot to gawk at, but we’ve always had a soft spot for Microsoft’s Zune packaging and “Welcome to the Social” greetings.

Touch 3G

Here’s a first look at the HTC Touch 3G, which features a “2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, Europe-friendly HSDPA, 3.2 megapixel camera and 14.5mm of thickness. Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS and 802.11g WiFi.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

Sporting a slightly refined design and, well, 3G, there’s literally nothing else we know about the device. It does seem slightly different than the budget-friendly, EDGE-strapped Opal, but it’s all hearsay until HTC actually announces these puppies.

Kitchen on Wheels

This nifty Kitchen on Wheels concept consists of four parts: “a stainless plate for meal prep and warming, an electric stove for cooking, a dish drawer for storage, and a mini-fridge.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

If it looks like a filing cabinet, don’t hate - it’s supposed to slip under your desk. This is perfect for someone who eats at the desk, like I am doing now.

Walking Machine

Inspired by Theo Jansen’s Walking Machine, this LEGO Technic creation “barely makes a sound as it claws its way across the floor.” Videos after the break.

Oh, and on a related note Theo Jansen made a sick BMW commercial back in the day that certainly served as inspiration for this Lego arachnid.

Pyramid Car

Designed by Greg Zanis, this pyramid car “is powered by 80 lead-acid batteries which drive four independent motors, allowing the car to make a complete 360-degree turn on a dime.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

A single 3.5 hour charge provides about 240 miles of driving for only about $5 in electricity cost. Take that gasoline!
