Green Beam Laser Pointer

These green beam laser pointers from ThinkGeek “are pure eye candy - very bright and look much superior than a standard run-of-the-mill red laser pointer.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

If you’ve spent any time browsing the ThinkGeek catalog, then you are familiar with the utter coolness of green lasers.

iPhone 3G Application

Tapulous has developed an iPhone 3G application which “allows two iPhone users running Friend Book to share their personal contact information by shaking their phones in close proximity to one another.” Video after the break.

The app works, I’d guess by sending the closely matching accelerometer data back to the Tapulous server, where they’re matched in the cloud and info is swapped.

Walking Head

Built by Stelarc, the Walking Head sits “atop six piston-powered legs, an LCD screen displays a creepy animated face to lull you into submission once the robot sees you with its ultrasound sensors.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

It then makes faces as if to trick you into believing it’s really not here to destroy you and yours like some monster from The Thing.

DJ Sound Mixer

Unlike other mixers, the Aurora’s “schematics, bills of materials and source code can be nabbed for free on the web, or you can have one built and shipped.” Video of this DJ sound mixer after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

We love open source hardware, especially when it can throw some MIDI flange and fade into your party like the Aurora—a dual-channel, USB-powered DJ mixer.

Boeing Rotorcraft

The SkyHook JHL-40 is a Boeing rotorcraft that “will be able to reach where no other kind of transport can go, at a fraction of the cost, with less environmental impact, and without danger to the crew.” Click here for one more picture.

As you can see, the eight-engine aircraft has four vertical rotors to lift its neutrally buoyant body, plus four directional propellers under each rotor to direct it. Boeing says that it will be very popular in the energy, mining, and logging industries.
