Eee PCAfter a fire at LG Chem, li-on batteries have been hard to come by for companies like Asus and Quanta. But fear not, laptop lovers, because it looks like the battery plant is getting things back in order. According to Sung Fu-hsang at Simplo — a battery manufacturer that relies on LG Chem — the li-on supply will return to normal by Q3 2008. So how bad is the current shortage? Asus CEO Jerry Shen noted that his company could have sold a lot more than 5 million Eee PCs were it not for the problem.

The “PrintBall” is basically “an ink-jet printer using a paintball fun as printhead.” Though the finished product isn’t very pretty, it does however, work quite well for painting letters. Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

The gun is mounted on a custum made pan & tilt unit which is connected to a Max/Msp based software through an Atmel chip [programmed in Basic]. The software allow the users to load and analyze images.

Unlike other hybrids, Nissan’s Cube concept sports an “electric motor and laminated lithium-ion batteries located under the floor and seats.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Nissan’s compact lithium-ion battery technology, one of the company’s traditional strengths, provides batteries with twice as much energy compared with a conventional cylindrical battery of the same type and safer operation due to the use of chemically stable spine-structured manganese for the electrode material.

The first “official” pics and specs for the HTC Diamond have been leaked, complete with a 640 x 480 pixel screen (twice the lines of the iPhone in smaller surface) and 3G connectivity. Could this be the most important product of the year HTC said it would reveal in London on Tuesday?

Called the “GreenPix - Zero Energy Media Wall”, this gigantic creation consists of “thousands solar photovoltaic capture cells attached to a grid of glass panels, each of which conceals an array of computer-controlled LEDs.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

The wall was constructed for visitors attending the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and located in the Xicui entertainment complex, near the site of the games.
