Just like we warned, Dell’s new cheapo business laptops, the Vostro 1510 and Vostro 1310 have hit virtual shelves. The 15.4- and 13.3-inch models both feature Intel CPUs (up to Core 2 Duos), a maximum of 4GB of RAM, 80GB to 250GB hard drives, and a bunch of other features that should be totally adequate for your business affairs. The 1510 starts at $599, and the 1310 at $749; both are available now.

It used to be if you signed up for a new checking account, a bank might throw off a toaster, alarm clock, or in extreme modern cases, a 1GB iPod shuffle. Well times, they are a’changing, and boy do we wish we lived in Canada right now. Up north, RBC Royal Bank is offering a free ASUS Eee PC when you switch to their checking account service. That’s right, you get an actual computer after completing the move (and dealing with a lot of red tape). Sure, it’s only the 7-inch, 2GB version, but it still runs Xandros way superior than this solar calculator we got from our bank.

[Thanks, Matt]

Ooh, shiny! ASUS’ CES-announced M50S has finally found its way out of whatever lair it has been tucked away in, and thankfully, the shutterbugs over at PC Perspective snapped a few shots for the world to see. Initial impressions are that it should handle most gaming needs with ease, yet won’t destroy your back when toting it from LAN party to LAN party. The built-in Blu-ray burner and multi-function trackpad are quite nice, too. Hit up the read link for the full preview — a bona fide review should be following shortly.

[Thanks, Ryan]

With a sample group of one, it’s a bit too early to call the Dell Vostro 1310 keyboard a problem. Nevertheless, reader Jake is livid about Dell’s chosen keyboard configuration for his UK-shipped 1310. Especially as it looks nothing like the layout pictured on Dell’s UK site. As tethered keyboard jockeys we’d have to agree. Any other UK readers seeing the same massive left-shift key and offset-zed (and thus, the entire row scooted to the right) layout on their new Vostro? Bigger images after the break.

Update: Jake’s been on the horn with Dell who confirms the issue exists on all 1310s (and possibly others) in the UK. We’ll update you again once Dell sorts out a fix.

The NeoCube is basically “composed of 216 individual high-energy sphere magnets, which can be formed into BILLIONS of shapes and patterns.” Video after the break.

Rubik’s Cubes are nice if you actually want to think, but how about for those times when you’re just sitting there and you want something to fiddle with? The Neocube has 216 spherical neodymium magnets that connect and make a cube, a sphere, or any other obscene shape that springs to mind.

No other dishwasher quite matches the design of the Mural, which “slides along the length of the rack, cleaning as it goes.” Pricing and availability have not yet been announced. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Putting your dirty dishes into a dishwasher to clean them only to move them again to a cupboard for storage, is a pretty inefficient system when you think about it.

Israel’s $600,000 “Guardium” is an autonomous, 4-wheeled robot that “can be mounted with cameras, night-vision equipment and sensors, as well as more lethal tools like machine guns.” Video after the break.

Following pre-programmed routes, it can navigate alone through cities - the vehicle knows how to deal with intersections, traffic and road markings. It can patrol borders, its cameras scanning 360 degrees at all times, and alert operators if it spots anything suspicious
