It looks like those worried that AMD didn’t have any new processors in the pipeline can rest simple, as an apparently official roadmap turned up by ComputerBase recently revealed that the company is, in fact, doing its job and churning out CPUs at a steady pace. This latest batch consists of four Griffin-based chips, which are spread across the company’s Turion 64 Ultra, Turion 64, Athlon 64, and Sempron mobile processor lines. On the Turion front, the processors are each stated to boast DDR2 800MHz memory, along with clock speeds ranging from 2.0GHz to 2.4GHz, and power consumption between 32 and 35 Watts. The lone Athlon 64 chip, on the other hand, clocks in at 1.9GHz, with 1MB of L2 cache, DDR2 667MHz support, and a power consumption of 31W, while the Sempron rounds things out with a power consumption of 25W, 512KB of L2 cache, and a clock speed “starting from” 2.0GHz. No word on prices for the processors themselves just yet, but as Laptoping points out, AMD has announced that Puma / Griffin-powered laptops would begin shipping sometime in the second quarter of this year.

Cowon’s Windows CE-powered Q5W isn’t just good for watching movies or listening to music, you can also play SNES games, as you’ll see in the video. Continue reading to watch.

Controlling the emulator is done via a Playstation controller and a USB adapter through the Q5W’s USB host. The whole setup seems to work pretty well, and it’s definitely worth trying for those of you with a Q5W

With living units priced from $180,000 - $2.5-million, “Freedom Ship” could be home to thousands when/if the ice caps melt. Features include: a casino, school system, and “more than 100 acres of outdoor park, recreation, exercise and community space.” Click here for one more picture.

Now the Freedom Ship company has a new set of designs for the floating urban space, which looks sort of like a giant mall parking lot, and sort of like a really giant Love Boat

If there was a bathroom-inspired Transformer, it would probably look something like “Toiletron” — created in “Aviary, a suite of online web application.” Video after the break.

Toilets are one of the most favored hiding spots for evil robots from other galaxies. This work made heavy use of lighting, painting, transforming and sourcing

A group of MIT students decided to celebrate the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl by hanging power-ups in the main lobby. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Celebrating the release of a big video game is starting to become a regular theme over there. If you recall, some pranksters dressed up John Harvard’s statue to look like Master Chief when Halo 3 was released

If nothing else, the FMG-9 concept from Magpul is commendable for being one of the first weapons that can “switch from a simple flashlight to a Glock-style submachine gun in one simple flick of the wrist.” Video after the break.

Designed by Magpul, the FMG-9 is currently in prototype phase, and there’s no guarantee whether it will be released or not, but I guess it’s one for the personal protection peeps

That’s right, a modder created a “PSX64 interface for plugging his PS2 Guitar Hero guitar into the C64, which he’s having produced for sale alongside a 5 1/4-inch floppy disk of Shredz64.” Video after the break.

In case you need a refresher, Shredz64 is all about bringing a Guitar Hero-style experience to the Commodore 64 — which, in addition to holding much sentimental value, is quite the musical device in its own right
