If our description from CES of the perplexing (and frankly inconvenient) navigation associated with E-Lead’s Noahpad wasn’t enough to truly depict what is going on with this thing, then perhaps these videos will help. Sure, they’ve gotten a British guy to do voice-overs, and the company is playing some interesting angles with the multi-use concept, but we’re not sold that anyone could really get used to that keyboard. Take a look for yourself… you’ll see what we mean.
[Thanks, Tom]

We’ve got a bit of preliminary dirt on Dell’s new, soon-to-be-announced Latitude E-series machines, and we’re liking what we see. So far we know there will be a 4.25 pound / 14.1-inch and 5 pound / 15.4-inch version, both with WXGA and WXGA+ LED backlit displays, as well as a 12-inch (pictured above) and 13.3-inch version for road warrior types. Expect DisplayPort, eSATA, plenty of USB ports, and PC or ExpressCard slots in the larger models. More on these as we get it in.

Merely two days after Dell added NVIDIA’s GeForce 8800M GTX to its beastly M1730, it seems that Rock is looking to up the graphical ante as well. Reportedly, the firm is gearing up to unleash the (likely rebadged) Xtreme XL8, which will house an Intel X6800 quad-core processor, a delightful pair of NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTXs, up to 1TB of storage space and a 17-inch 1,920 x 1,200 resolution panel to boot. Furthermore, you’ll find an Ethernet jack, Draft-N wireless card, an obligatory (no, really) HD DVD drive and a presumably laughable battery life. Waiting for the sting? Try

We’re not saying a sign in some little computer shop in Milford, New Hampshire is an indication of popular opinion, but there’s a reason those presidential candidates always end up in small towns on the campaign trail. Whatever the case may be, the folks at A&D computer are here to help… uninstall Vista from your PC. Hey, uninstalling unwieldy OSs is all well and good, but personally, we’d like to know more about this notebook repair.

It’s that time of the product cycle again, the teardown. This time, iFixit’s applying the Xacto to Apple’s MacBook Air. Notable discoveries are an easy to disassemble chassis just big enough for Samsung’s 1.8-inch, 80GB disk but not the relatively chubby 160GB variety found in the iPod classic. They also found the new multi-touch trackpad using the same control chip as the iPod touch and iPhone — the Broadcom BCM5974. That leaves Apple plenty of room to grow the gesture options via software updates. Want to remove the battery? Go ahead, 19 screw removals (in addition to Apple’s non-removable feebie) will get the job done. Mmm, silicon and aluminum carnage, smells like… victory. Now hit up that read link IEEE types, where it’s high-res all the time.

According to T3, Sony might be releasing a new thinner, lighter PlayStation 3 in Q3/Q4 of this year. Other specifications have not yet been announced. Click here for first picture in gallery.
Specs-wise, we’re probably looking at the same machine with stacks of space and the trusty Blu-Ray player on board. The new PS3 is a proper looker: if it’s anything like the illustration our team of designers have come up with, then we’re looking at one hell of a sexy piece of kit.

At the push of a button, the Rinspeed Splash transforms into a boat — cruises at 40 knots. When on land, it’s capable of going from 0-60mph in just 5.9-seconds. Click here for one more picture.
When cruising the water, a hydrofoil system—a mechanism generally reserved to lift hulls from the water to increase boat speed—allows the car to hover a few feet over the water while it uses a propeller

What sets this railgun apart from the others is that it “uses magnetic fields, which means it’s a lot less messy, and you can dump tons of juice in and get the shell going damn fast.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.
If you’ve got a little over 10 megajoules as with this demonstration model, you’re looking at 5,600 mph. When the system is completed, it’ll be firing shells with over six times that energy (well over 13,000 mph) using 64 megajoules of energy
