You’d think there’d be a bit more excitement associated with the inclusion of Intel’s latest and greatest, but HP decided to take the quiet route with integrating Penryn into its Pavilion laptop lineup. The Pavilion dv2700t, dv6700t and dv9700t are all getting an Intel T9300 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo option, with a 6MB l2 cache and a purported 10% speed boost over last-gen Intel processors. Unfortunately, that mild speed boost comes at a $100 premium over the T7500, so you money might be better spent on RAM or a better graphics card — or you could just choose it all, the Engadget-approved method of speccing a laptop.

Sure, you might’ve napped through the marketing speak and blearily paged through the tech documentation, but apparently you haven’t heard all there is to know about the new Isaiah architecture from Via. The folks at [H] Enthusiast got to see the chip in action, and were most impressed by the 1.8GHz bugger’s ability to run Crysis. Apparently the folks at Via are fairly certain their chip can best the upcoming UMPC-friendly Silverthorn chips from Intel, and it seems like Crysis is about as good a benchmark as any. We’re sure to hear more about this little rivalry in the coming months, but we like the way things are headed.

If the MacBook Air were to include a built-in Super Drive, floppy drive, iPod Shuffle, 3 USB ports, Ethernet, and Firewire 400/800 ports, this is what it might look like.
The Macbook Air sure is a fine piece of Cupertino craftsmanship, but the lack of useful input ports is a complete downer on the slinky sexy soiree. Fret not, Flickr user Nybras.Rodrigo has conjured up a fantastic solution

At first glance, this might look like a set from the film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but it’s actually a masterfully crafted home theater. Click here for one more picture.
this beauty was built as a result of film geek randy moran’s love of the nautilus submarine from the film 20,000 leagues under the sea. he hired ‘dillon works inc’ to build and fabricate all the trusses, wall panels, screen frames, and portholes and ‘acoustic innovations’ to supply the plush red seating

The Farbio GTS is powered by a supercharged V6 engine that produces 375bhp. Supposedly, the “original automobile design was prompted by a refusal from Porsche to sell one of its GT1 road going race car to a young man in the UK named Arash Farboud.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.
Not one to sit down and lament over his problem, Farboud went out and started his own supercar company. That was in 1998 and since then the company has undergone a name change from Farboud to Farbio and its now on the verge of developing two all-new models

Printed with special thermo-reactive ink, this “Well Done” book needs to be cooked in an oven before the typography appears. Click here for first picture in gallery.
To be able to cook like Podravka you need to be a precise cook. That is why the small Podravka booklet is printed in invisible, thermo-reactive ink. To be able to reveal Podravka’s secrets you need to cover the small booklet in aluminium foil and bake it at 100 degrees Celsius for 25 minutes

Japanese researchers have developed a robot that “recognizes when people are lost and helps them find their way.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.
Relying on data from 16 cameras, 6 laser range finders and 9 RFID tag readers installed in and around the area, the robot was able to watch up to 20 people at a time, pinpoint their locations to within a few centimeters, and classify each individuals behavior into one of 10 categories (waiting, wandering, walking fast, running, etc.)

There’s nothing quite like hearing a group of network talk-show hosts heaping praise on a piece of technology they barely understand to jumpstart your day. We think you’ll agree that listening to Matt Lauer loudly declare “It’s awesome!” and watching Meredith “You’re blowing the whole schtick” Viera vigorously mime licking the new MacBook Air is pretty wretch-inducing stuff — though Al Roker informing us that if you want the SSD, you’ll only have to pay “a little bit more,” was definitely one toke over the line. Thanks for ruining our breakfast guys. Every breakfast.
Watch the video after the break. We’ve included the crew’s earlier encounter with the iPhone just in case you needed your memory jogged.

Sleek and stylish, the “CulArt” combines technology with a naturalistic design. It features a large touchscreen display, an external Bluetooth-enabled keypad, and a 3.0-megapixel camera. Click here for first picture in gallery.
The included bluetooth headset/remote uses a series of knobs to control the phone’s most basic functions. Clearly retro and clearly pre-80s. Flip the phone around and you’ll find a rocky textured surface which prevents slippage and reminds you of how much you suck at rock climbing
